Located in the exclusive, piste-side residence Clos Honoraz in Morillon village, Apartment CH8 is a beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom accommodation arranged over 2 floors. Comprising an impressive 104m2 of luxury living space (8.6m2 less than 1.8m high) this elegant home away from home sleeps up to 10 guests in absolute style and comfort. The apartment’s contemporary design combines perfectly with traditional, locally sourced elements, including some simply stunning custom-made furnishings and only the highest quality bedding and linens.

Watch skiers glide down the return piste to Morillon or enjoy the views of hillside chalets and the surrounding countryside from one of two, large south-facing balconies. Or curl up on one of your two comfy deep sofas in front of the Smart TV with Bluray player. There is also free Wi-Fi internet throughout. A communal garden space blends seamlessly into the wider natural surrounds and provides a great space to relax or play. The apartment also benefits from a private lockable garage, plus additional off-street parking in the residents’ only carpark, as well as private ski locker and larger storage unit fitted with boot warmer.

Situated just off the end of the return piste to Morillon village, guests will love skiing to the Clos Honoraz residence. The Domaine Skiable du Giffre (DSG) is renowned for its snow management and there are also snow canons on this run, but on any occasions when ski in/ski out is not available simply catch the telecabine, located a mere 40m from the front door. Apartment CH8 is also conveniently located to all the local shops and amenities, with the nearest bars and restaurants less than 100m away. The popular Lac Bleu with its many year-round activities, and lovely lakeside bar/restaurant is an easy 10-minute stroll away, making this apartment a great choice for holidays throughout the year.

From the moment you step inside the Clos Honoraz residence you appreciate the charm and warmth of this exclusive luxury development. Antique skis and a forged-iron mirror adorn the walls of the communal hall, hinting at the attentive design within. The apartment itself is an elegant accommodation offering quality and style at every turn.

Enter via your private second-floor entrance, past the bench and hanging area, and feel immediately drawn to the spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining areas. This space is fresh and bright, light flooding in through floor to ceiling glass sliding doors that frame an idyllic setting outside. There is a large storage cupboard in the main entrance as well as a WC to the left.

The glorious lounge is the perfect place to relax in front of your flatscreen TV with  both French & English channels as wells as Bluray disc player, and features two large, plush navy sofas that look out to the hillside beyond. There is also Wi-Fi internet throughout. The solid wooden coffee table set on an Afghan woolen rug is a central feature, and one of many custom-made and locally sourced furnishings. The glass-topped dining table with its intricate wooden inlays is a testament to the craftmanship of our region’s local artisans. With comfortable seating for up to 10 guests this is the perfect place to enjoy an evening’s meal. Or you may prefer to dine al fresco on the large south-facing balcony (10m2), equipped with outdoor dining table and chairs. An additional balcony with casual seating is located on the apartment’s upper level.

The apartment’s kitchen is stocked to perfection. Budding chef’s will appreciate the full-size electric oven and additional combination oven/microwave. There is also a 4 burner induction hob, full-size fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, and washing machine and separate dryer. This highly functional kitchen also provides ample storage and work space - the sleek stone worktop complimenting the cream tiles and polished wooden floors perfectly. The kitchen is of course equipped with all the cooking utensils, pots, pans, bakeware and crockery you could ever need, including a fondue set should you wish to try your hand at some local fare.

The first of four thoughtfully designed bedrooms, which features an ensuite bathroom, is also located on the apartment’s lower level. To access the remaining 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms climb the winding wooden staircase to the upper level. A private ski locker and larger storage unit fitted with boot warmer is located on the ground floor of the Clos Honoraz residence. Guests also benefit from private off-street parking and a secure, lockable garage.

Apartment CH8 boast 4 well-appointed bedrooms, each tastefully decorated and fitted with only the highest quality beds, mattresses and soft furnishings. Enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep cocooned in Egyptian cotton linens. Blackout blinds and electric shutters on the Velux windows, and electric shutters in the upstairs master bedroom, and rich heavy curtains throughout ensure your night’s sleep will also be a peaceful one.

Custom-made wall-mounted wooden headboards feature in two of the bedrooms and are a testament to our local artisans’ skills. All bedrooms offer built in and free standing storage options, beside tables and reading lamps. Bathroom showers are all fitted with large ‘rain-shower’ heads, and heated towel rails are also provided. The apartment is centrally heated, but all rooms are also fitted with wall-mounted radiators that can be individually adjusted for your comfort.

Bedroom 1 on the ground floor offers views of the return piste to Morillon. Ample storage is provided with a built-in shelving unit, and custom-made corner dresser. The bright ensuite bathroom is fitted with shower, WC and single basin vanity unit.

Bedrooms 2, 3 & 4 are all located on the second level landing. Bedroom 2, a charming loft-style room with sloped ceiling, can be arranged as either a twin or super-king room. It features a lovely corner dresser and built-in wardrobe and can double up as a snug, with a TV and DVD player. Next door is Bedroom 3, a beautiful queen room with vaulted ceiling and a private, furnished south-facing balcony. A built-in wardrobe provides ample storage. Bedrooms 2 & 3 share a stylish bathroom with a bath, featuring integrated overhead shower, WC and an attractive oversized single vanity unit.

Bedroom 4, another loft-style room, is situated at the end of the landing and can be arranged as either a twin or super-king room. The room features built-in wardrobe, additional small wardrobe, and chest of drawers. Its ensuite bathroom is fitted with a large shower (80cm x 100cm), WC and extra-large single vanity unit.

Apartment CH8 accommodates 8 guests in its 4 bedrooms, however a super-king-size sofabed in the living room can be used on prior request to provide flexible sleeping arrangements for groups of up to 10.

Please note, a group size of 10 must include some children. If just adults the maximum group size is 8.

The Clos Honoraz residence is a small, exclusive development built in 2017 in a classic alpine chalet style. Apartment CH8 offers great views of the adjacent ski slopes, and hillside chalets and countryside from either of its two, large south-facing balconies. Dine al fresco on the lower level balcony or escape to the private upper deck. Also equipped with outdoor furniture, guests in Bedroom 3 will love relaxing in this calm outdoor space.

The residence is surrounded by a communal garden space, which blends seamlessly into the wider natural surrounds. There is a private lockable garage for one car, with further off-street parking available in the residents’ only carpark. A private ski locker and large storage cave with boot warmer is also available for guest use.

Apartment CH8 in the Clos Honoraz residence is in a desirable location right by the return piste to Morillon village, a mere 40m from the telecabine. Set back from the main road, the apartment is easily accessible, and sits within a stone’s throw of all village amenities. The nearest bars and restaurants are less than 100m away. Several other restaurants, the local grocery store, bakery, butcher, cafes, and an impressive weekly market are all within a few minutes’ walk of the residence.

In winter, you will find cross-country pistes that link to the valley’s vast Nordic network just 300m from the apartment. Or if you prefer catch the free ski-bus just 40m away, with services linking the Morillon-Verchaix, Samoens-Sixt and Col du Joux Plane cross-country skiing routes.  The ski-bus to the Grand Massif Express in Samoens also leaves from this stop.

Apartment CH8 is as ideally located for the spring and summer months, situated a mere 10-minute walk from the popular Lac Bleu. Swim at the private beach with designated life guard, or enjoy numerous other summer activities, including high ropes adventure park, horse riding, inflatable park, rafting and tennis. An array of walking trails to suit all levels of fitness are easily accessible from the apartment. Several mountain bike trails are also immediately accessible from the Clos Honoraz residence. For road cyclists, the famous Col de Joux Plane climb starts in Samoëns just 5KM away.

About the owner

I have always been drawn to the mountains, and skiing in particular is a true passion of mine. Having a getaway in the Alps has been a major life ambition. The Grand Massif was a perfect option, and Morillon in particular. The Giffre Valley is a genuinely living, breathing and working area, which gives it an authenticity that is simply lacking in most purpose built resorts. I love to head to "La Puzze" (just down the road from the apartment) out of season, and sit with local builders, foresters, and families enjoying the 'plat du jour' followed by 'un café'.

I really hope that others will enjoy staying here, in any season. Winter and summer especially are wonderful, but don't forget the verdant spring, and the colourful autumn, where you really feel you can get away from it all. Heywood-Waddington family
