Chalet Bleu - Morillon

A bright blue chalet with catslide roof set in the French countryside. Chalet Bleu is indeed unique, something you notice the moment you arrive via a lane accessed from the road into Morillon.

Step inside to a perfect mix of cottage charm and modern comfort. To your right a hallway leads to the first of four spacious and well-appointed bedrooms. A large closet housing the separate washer and dryer is also in the hall. In addition it is fitted with ski boot rack and storage shelves, custom-made by the owner. Ahead of you the glorious open-plan living, and dining room is a major highlight. Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass, this lovely space affords stunning views down the valley to the Pic de Marcelly, and in the warmer months can be opened to provide access to the chalet’s garden.

In the winter, relax around the log burner in one of three large, comfortable sofas. A TV, DVD player and games console are provided for your entertainment, along with a selection of DVDs and games, including dance mat and karaoke mics!  There is also a large selection of books, board games and puzzles, plus Wi-Fi internet.

The kitchen, also on the ground floor, is a lovely mix of old and new. The traditional cast iron, wood burning stove and hotplate combines with charming wooden cabinets, stylish wall tiles and a sleek granite work surface, that doubles as a breakfast bar. The kitchen comes equipped with additional electric oven and 4-burner gas hob, full-size fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, food processor, and all the bakeware and crockery/serving dishes and glassware you could possibly need. Coffee lovers are spoilt for choice too, with Nespresso machine, stovetop Italian cafetiere and Krups coffee maker all at your disposal. And if you’d like to try your hand at some traditional Savoyard fare of an evening, there is also a raclette machine and two fondue sets.

Dine with a view inside or step out onto your south-facing deck area, equipped with outdoor dining table and chairs. This is also where you will find your hot tub! An additional picnic bench and BBQ on the northern side of the chalet provide another space to dine al fresco. Or simply enjoy the 800m2 of gardens, the glorious outlook providing sunshine all-day long.

Chalet Bleu boasts 4 bright and spacious bedrooms, each fitted with individually controlled heating units, bedside tables and reading lamps. The bedrooms all offer lovely views across the expansive Morillon fields toward the Pic de Marcelly.

Bedroom 1 on the ground floor is a lovely triple room with a double bed and a single bed. A large chest of drawers and wardrobe provide ample storage space for all your belongings. A bathroom with shower, WC and single basin vanity unit is immediately adjacent.

The remaining bedrooms are on the chalet’s second level. Bedroom 2 is the master room with king-size bed and ensuite shower and WC. Light floods in through a floor-to-ceiling glass window and door, which provides access to the upper level balcony, the perfect place to catch the afternoon sun. A standing mirror with integrated hanging rail, as well as wall-length low shelving unit and large chest of drawers provide ample storage.

Bedroom 3 is a delightful triple room with giant Velux window and floor-to-ceiling glass door, which opens on to the second level balcony. Two chest of drawers, plus hooks and hangers provide storage.

Bedroom 4 is a spacious room with luxurious super king size bed (or can be arranged as two single beds by request), while large windows offer fabulous views over woodland to the rear of the chalet. A chest of drawers provides good storage space.

Bedrooms 3 and 4 share the largest of the three bathrooms, which is fitted with shower, separate bath, WC and double basin vanity unit.

Surrounded by approximately 800m2 of private gardens, with dense forest behind and views across open fields toward the Pic de Marcelly in front, Chalet Bleu’s outdoor space is divine. The large, hedged garden and decking on three sides of the house provide plenty of places to relax and enjoy the sunshine all day long.

Enjoy the hot tub or dine al fresco style on the chalet’s southern terrace, furnished with stylish outdoor dinner setting. Or fire up the BBQ and enjoy a more casual meal at the picnic bench on the other side of the house. For some peace and solitude follow the paved walkway to the bottom of the garden, where you can sit surrounded by nature. Deck chairs and additional garden furniture are provided for your comfort.

A second balcony is located upstairs and can be accessed from either of the two upper level bedrooms. There is also plenty of private parking available through the chalet’s gated entrance.
